Hot Fudge Upside Down Cake

This is from the library book,  Slow Cooker: The Best Cookbook Ever.   It really is a pretty good book and includes this dessert.  I have the recipe for the oven version of this cake but hadn't thought about adapting it to the slowcooker.  Glad that this author did!
Cake:
1/2 c milk
3 T butter, melted
1 t vanilla bean paste (I used vanilla extract)
1 c sugar
1 c flour
1/2 c cocoa powder
2 t baking pwder
3/4 c brown sugar
1 3/4 c boiling water.

Coat the slow cooker insert with cooking spray.  Stir together the milk, butter, and vanilla.  Gradually stir in the sugar, flour, 1/4 c cocoa and baking powder.  Spread the batter into the slow cooker insert.

Mix together brown sugar and remaining 1/4 c cocoa and sprinkle over the batter.  Pour in the boiling water but do not stir.  Cover and cook on high for 2 hours.  Uncover and and allow to cool for 20 minutes or so.

My version of Valentine's Day chocolate.
